A Quick Life Update (I have a new blog)

I was away from the blogosphere yet again. Things have been so hectic lately that I can barely catch my breath. There’s so much I wanted to say but I don’t know where to start. Maybe I should give you a quick update about my life lately:

  • I left Cebu for good last February. It was a whirlwind decision. We only had two months, more or less, to prepare for everything, from packing 8 years’ worth of things to all the tedious paperwork for the travel permit. The big move drained my energy and most of my emergency fund. But I’m home for good, for better or for worse.
  • We adopted two ginger cats and brought them home with us. The travel was stressful, to say the least. But they have adapted into their new home now. They are as naughty as ever and I love them to bits.
  • I’m back to working from home and I can’t say I hate it. This setup works so well, at least for now. I already feel like a hermit as it is. I barely meet humans outside of immediate family.
  • My new role at work keeps me on my toes. It has been challenging and rewarding. I also found myself with more time on my hands now that I’m not obliged to write content anymore. I still have my freelance jobs but the articles have been drastically cut. I’m not complaining.
  • And since I have more time to pursue things I love, I decided on a whim to try signing up for a yearly plan and domain. Hence, the birth of a new blog. Please check out my new baby, Hermit Diary. This is where I will house my future plans and my journey to becoming a hermit (also, financial independence).

That’s all for now. I’m just writing this on the go. My cat has been whining since he just woke up and I left him in the room. Time to be their butler now. I hope you’re all keeping well and safe. And yes, do tell me how you’re doing, too.

  1. Hi Mitch, it’s always great to hear from you! I’ll head over and check out your new blog ๐Ÿ™‚

You may have seen that I’m thinking of starting a new blog, too. I know so much more about blogging/running a website than I did when I first started, and I’d love to design something more streamlined than my current platform. Unfortunately, that would take lots of time, and I can’t give my time away for free right now. So, I’ve got to think about funding options, even though that’s taboo in the nature conservation realm, where you’re expected to do things for free or almost free.

    1. Hi, Josh! Its lovely to hear from you, too. Thank you so much for visiting the new blog and for the follow. I appreciate it a lot! ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s awesome! Starting a new blog/website does take so much time. I gave in and bought a WordPress plan because I want something easier and convenient. I only used an existing premium template and tweaked here and there. Let me know how I can help.
