Meridian

You wake up at sunrise to say goodnight
Just before I yield to the call of dreams
But sleep has been evading me for days
I want your arms around me, strong and warm
Without them, cold seeps through my bones
I’m left trembling between the sheets of silk
I want to hold your hand in the dark
While you tell me your hopes and your fears
And I want to assure you that all tomorrows
May not be how we imagine them to be
But we can make this night our very own
I want to curse the ocean that separates us
But what good will curses do?
It will not make me stop missing you.

I wrote this last September when the mood to write kicked in. I wrote dozens but I was careful not to show them to anyone because some felt so raw and others bland. But my friend, Debbie, likes this one so much. Well maybe, this is not so bad after all. 😉

    1. Hi, Nihar. I haven’t been here in a while. I understand. I’ve been busy myself. I will read all the posts I missed when I get back after the holidays. Hope you’re doing well. Have a lovely weekend. 🙂
